I'm curious about membership statistics and where in the world Gay Heaven members live. I thought it would be interesting to have this in one place and be able to see the membership diversity.

i was born in Indonesia.
i grew up in different countries including Indonesia (Jakarta), USA (Seattle), and Canada (Toronto)
i obtained my degrees in the Netherlands and Belgium
i still live in the Netherlands at the moment
in 2-3 weeks I will move to Shanghai to start my career

I live in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA. I was born in Los Angeles, spent half my life in Oregon and now live on the east coast. I am also very curious about the location of many of the member of GH. I would love to know where many of the posters live.

There's a lot of fractured English on the site--Please don't take offense at that remark.
The ONLY language I can communicate in is my native English. I deeply envy and admire anyone who has managed to learn to communicate in any another language than their own.

I hope this thread catches on bigtime so we can get to know one another's home bases.

I can only speak for myself here, and my preference is for locational anonymity. I am not out in my professional community, and cannot afford to embrace that status much as I would prefer to. So, I applaud those who can reveal their location, but I must decline.

I get the jist of that, Howard. It's a tribute to the daring attitude and longing to be part of a global community, that others from faraway lands attempt to communicate here in English. I can almost always figure out what a contributor means, and I encourage them to continue. None of us were born speaking perfect grammar and using correct syntax. That's not a slap at you or anyone, just a statement of fact. So when someone does me the courtesy of trying to speak my language, I appreciate that. I can only imagine how silly I might sound trying to express myself in Russian, or Dutch or Mandarin, or Tagalog, or any of the other wonderful languages out there that I do not know.
