1775. An historical account regarding the significance of that year with respect to the American Revolution. Contends that, despite history as written, that the revolution actually began that year rather than 1776.

The Alloy of Law by Brandon Sanderson. It is more like a fantasy... western? Really good though.

I'm reading a biography of Slovenia's new wonder boy Peter Prevc, the new world champion in ski jumping.

delofoto20.jpg

In the 2015/2016 season, he won:
- the great Crystal Globe for overall victory in the ski jumping World cup,
- the small Crystal Globe for overall victory in ski flying rankings,
- Golden Eagle award for winning the Four Hills Tournament,
- World Championship in ski flying,
- record number of points in a season (2.303),
- record number of wins in a season (15 wins, 22 podium finishes).

Congrats!

I've just finished reading Scotty Bowers' memoirs "Full Service: My Adventures in Hollywood and the secret sex lives of the stars" (2012).

Who is Scotty Bowers? One version would be that he's the farm boy from Illinois who became a Marine Corps soldier in WWII, a gas station pump jockey on Hollywood Avenue and a bar tender.

But you could also say that from the late 1940s into the early 1970s he was the great Mr. Fix-a-Trick of Tinseltown: want a fuck or a suck or a lick for the night or for the weekend? Scotty Bowers was the man to talk to. He connected people sexually - man with a man, woman with a women, woman with a man; mr Fix It could fix anything. And he also tricked a lot himself, having his cock duly sucked by Cole Porter, George Cukor, Sir Lawrence Olivier, Charles Laughton, Tyrone Power, Ramón Novarro, Raymond Burr, Cary Grant and Grant's lover Randolph Scott. Just to mention a few...

And for anyone interested here is a rare interview where he presents some of his ideas...

The interview took place in 1990 at his house in Pessac, about four years before his death. It's one of very few surviving video recordings of him. French with English subs.

Does manga count? ;)

Currently I'm both the "Don't Be Cruel" series by Yonezou Nekota and "Ten Count" By Rihito Takarai.

B. Pozar and I. Omerza - Melania Trump: The Inside Story

65288676cl.jpg

Great read with some interesting details from her previous life . Here is an extract from the book:

******

In her freshman year, the 19-year old Melanija Knavs attended lectures on the following subjects: elements of architecture, fine arts, fundamentals of technical mechanics, architectural construction, descriptive geometry, mathematics, and an ideological (read “communist”) elective credit called “General Partisan Resistance and Social Self-protection”. Melanija would have made it to her sophomore year, even having failed 2 exams, but she was supposed to have gotten and held a 1-month internship and kept a journal about it.

******

Later, in America, after meeting Donald Trump and officially becoming his partner, Melania Knauss told the media that she got her degree in architecture and design. This was almost certainly done in consultation with Trump and his advisors, as they were desperate to give off the impression that the Slovenian model was not just beautiful, but also smart and well-educated.
