Renault Classic, rear engine models

In the early 70s rear engine models R8 and R10 are still present in Renault scale but no more for a long time

Renault Frégate, the only front engine rear propulsion by the RNUR (after nationalisation, it mean : Régie Nationale des Usines Renault). To quickly designed, it was a commercial failure.

The first FWD Renault : the longitudinal engine is behind the front wheels. It is also the beginning of the number names (R4, R5, R6 ...)

Esthetically Alfa-Romeo Giulia and Citroën Ami 6 were among the most controversial cars in the sixties. Both had also the most sculpted body forms.
Happily for Citroën, the estate version of the Ami 6 was a successful.

The photo of the catalog is above right. I remember, my father and me wondered how a 2 CV could contain a camel. He said to me that it was impossible (maybe because he didn't like Citroën ;)) and me I said : "yes, they can".
I had the answer a long time later in a book dedicated to the 2 CV, it is the photo below. I was right but unfortunately my father was no more here to see this picture. :(

Citroen SM in movies

Cesar et Rosalie (Claude Sautet)

Columbo - season 5 ; episode 3 (jeu d'identité)

Folle à tuer (Yves Boisset)

Most of the time, in police series, I noticed that the murderer has a Jaguar, a Citroen or sometimes a BMW.
