US Poet, Painter, Social Activist
Lawrence Monsanto Ferlinghetti was an American poet (selling over 1 million copies of his works) and the founder of City Lights Booksellers & Publishers in San Francisco. He helped launch the Beat Movement in the 1950s and embodied the rebellious spirit of the 1960s.

Ronald PICKUP (1940)
Actor Ronald Pickup, was an English actor. He was active in television, film, and theatre, beginning with his 1964 breakout role in Doctor Who. Amongst his many many roles was the Archbishop of Canterbury in 2016's The Crown; Neville Chamberlain in 2017 film Darkest Hour and Norman Cousins in the Best Exotic Marigold Hotel films.....

Neville O'Riley LIVINGSTON ( a.k.a. Bunny Wailer), OM (1947)
Neville O'Riley Livingston, OM (Jamaican Order of Merit) , was a Jamaican singer songwriter and percussionist. He was an original member, and last surviving member of reggae group The Wailers along with Bob Marley and Peter Tosh. A three-time Grammy award winner, he is considered one of the longtime standard-bearers of reggae music. After leaving the Wailers he made some classic reggae tunes including this one
But of course he will be best remembered as a Wailer for tunes like these, Stir It Up & Concrete Jungle

Vernon JORDAN (1935)
US Lawyer, Social Activist, Business Executive, Political Advisor
As a young lawyer, Jordan sued the University of Georgia for its discriminatory admissions policies. Jordan rose to become the state field director for the NAACP and held several other leadership roles before being named executive director of the United Negro College Fund in 1970 and then president of the National Urban League in 1971, while he was still in his 30s. Jordan became close friends with Bill Clinton two decades before he became president, and was among the president’s closest confidants and advisors.

Trevor PEACOCK (1931)
English songwriter; screenwriter and actor in theatre, movies & TV, He had a long accomplished career with starring roles in BBC productions of Titus Andronicus, Twelfth Night and Henry V. He also appeared in the 1990 movie version of Hamlet and a 2000 production of Don Quixote. In addition he was a successful musician and songwriter appearing with the Beatles in a 1964 television special Around the Beatles, and wrote a number of pop hits.
But of course will be best remembered for playing the loveable but dim-witted Jim Trott in The Vicar Of Dipley
