Michael Jackson - Who Is It

Title: Who Is It
Album: Dangerous
Released: 1992 (UK), 1993 (USA)
Director: David Fincher
Starring: Yasmin Le Bon

Who is it, maybe the most paranoid song on the album, featuring pained, frustrated vocals and lyrics rallying against not just the public's opinion of Jackson, but his family, friends, and even himself. He sings it so desperately, it sounds personal. That's what I call perfectionism!

In an interview given shortly after the release of Dangerous, Jackson said that his goal was to do “an album that was like Tchaikovsky’s ‘Nutcracker Suite.’ In a thousand years from now, people would still be listening to it…. Something that would live forever.”

Dangerous is my favorite MJ album of all time. No other album can take that position in my mind. The album, in my opinion, is timeless.

Do you own the LP? I know I have Off the Wall, Bad, and thriller. All covered in dust and spider webs.;) For the simple reason that I have no LP player.

I like 'Human Nature' most of all... I think.

The man had soul. People without it, invariably distrust it (at some level of their being anyway). Or even hate it?

I own the CD version! ;)

In my opinion, Dangerous is Jackson’s most complete album, spanning dance music to dark nights of the soul.

It was the last time that Michael Jackson was Michael Jackson.

Back in the days of cassettes, I had 3 or 4 his cass albums.
Nowadays, I just have the Bad cd,as that was the album I liked most - though my favourite MJ song is probably Will You Be There from the Dangerous album.

Genius! And the same heart as Mother Theresa and Princess Diana. Other angels who were relentlessly trashed. Even Mother Theresa was 'mafia queen' for the petty minded greedy and exploitative.

Nothin' can stop this burnin'
Desire to be with you
Gotta get to you baby
Won't you come, it's emergency
Cool my fire yearnin'
Honey, come set me free
