Im sittinging in the garden at the moment. Its about 30oC out here, and there is a power cut. YUK! too hot to have a power cut. At least in the hosue I have fans to move air around.

The UPS has about an hour left in it to power the internet router and the webcam laptop.

I dare not open the fridge again to get another cold drink incase the power does not come back on any time soon.

So for the time being. Im just enjoying the sun

I dumped all of my huge VHS cassete collection into the dumpster this morning, haven't watched a VHS tape in years. I was sad for me to part with all the old movies. There were a few gay themed movies including the British "Queer as Folk" and "Tales of the City." But most of my collection was porn. RIP. I guess my DVD collection will be next.

Most of this hot day we have been only in shorts in our garden - too lazy to do anything.
In the late afternoon we have been out to "our" Italian Restaurant.
Now really sated and lazy again. And honestly for a fuck it is too hot .... or perhaps not?? Let's see what will happen.

Visited several hours with a "longtime companion" who's in the hospital as the result of a
stroke. Right now his right side is paralyzed and he can't speak or swallow. But he holds my hand with his working left hand, and squeezes it. It really upsets me to see him so helpless. But I make myself believe that, in time, he'll be back to the guy I've spent 42 years of my life with.

Actually, it was yesterday but...

I completed my first road trip in the "Root Beer Float". 600 miles round trip in a 40 year old van with no A/C, averaging 13 mpg @ 70 mph. Which really isn't that bad considering it's basically a 7,000 pound brick on wheels...

The only real problem is that since I've made this trip dozens of times over the past 30 years and know the route by heart, I didn't bother with a map. I also don't have a smart phone, nor is my vehicle equipped with a navigation system, it's 40 years old for Christ's sake... I always take the back roads through dozens a sleepy little towns with plenty of landmarks to help me navigate and places to get help if I have problems.

But this time, that route was under construction and the detours led me to even more obscure, unknown back country roads and even worse, the interstate.

I hate the interstate highways, nothing to see, nowhere to stop if you need help. Just miles and miles of boring nothingness...

And to make matters worse, heading south on the return trip the detours took me on a completely different set of back roads than the trip north. Which made it even more confusing. I was actually happy when I reached the interstate, as boring as it is, at least I know that if I stay on it going south all the way to the end, it will take me straight home since it ends half a mile from my house...

Worked in the house because of our renovation. Outside nearly 30°C and than working!!! Nonetheless nice to see our half naked friends full of sweat.

The house in the moment .... horrible and very uncomfortable.

Please when will it be over?????

After vacation on job again:
so woke up after bad sleep at 4:00 am,... slumbering till 6:00 am, shower, morning walk, breakfast, at 7:45 am in my office, lunch at noon, lunchbreak till 2:00 pm with power nap, office till 6:00 pm, running about 5 miles at 28°C, heat does not really stop me^^, relaxing now...
thats my daily routine....
sry if its boring...
