Update: Los Angeles Police Department, after first reporting Petty's death to CBS, later said that they have no information on his condition. CBS retracted their initial story.
Then, shortly before midnight Petty's management confirmed his death.

Yes, he was "the" Pontius Pilate. By that I mean that he was on the original concept album, the original Broadway production, and the film - in addition to doing several revivals.

He was one of the favorite actors of the French. A great actor who played in more than 200 films of cinema, television series and 100 plays (theater). He was also a horse enthusiast and commented on television riding encounters.
