Who says you can’t win for losing?

Actress Glenn Close has it all: a career spanning over 40 years, three Golden Globes, three Tony Awards and three Emmys. She just doesn’t have an Oscar. Yet.

After losing Best Supporting Actress honors to “Minari” star Yuh-Jung Youn at the 93rd Academy Awards, Close, 74, became the most Oscar-nominated female actor with absolutely no wins. For her performance as “Mamaw” in “Hillbilly Elegy,” Close earned her a record-setting eighth nomination from the Academy.

Her “most losses” ties her with legendary actor Peter O’ Toole, who was also nominated — and snubbed — for his big screen showings eight times. O’Toole did, however, score an honorary Oscar shortly before he died at 81 in 2013.

We're in total agreement - Glenn Close certainly deserves to get an Oscar!!! :thumbs up:

Petting A Dog Or Cat Can Relieve Stress

Dogs and cats help us live happier and healthier lives. Just being around them can instantly make us feel better after a bad day.

Stress is the leading cause of many illnesses and something we all need to work on reducing in our lives.

While meditation and yoga are helpful in reducing stress – the answer to reducing stress levels fast is your beloved dog or cat.

Research performed by Washington State University found college students who spent just 10 minutes petting a dog or cat had lower stress levels.

Patricia Pendry, an associate professor in WSU’s Department of Human Development, said, “Just 10 minutes can have a significant impact. Students in our study that interacted with cats and dogs had a significant reduction in cortisol, a major stress hormone.”

Right to use of sign language enshrined in Constitution

The right to use and development of the Slovenian sign language was enshrined in the Constitution today. Today's decision has made Slovenia the fifth country in the EU to have enshrined the right to sign language in the Constitution. Austria, Finland, Hungary and Portugal had already done this.

Moreover, Slovenia is now the first country in the world to recognise the status of tactile sign language by deaf-blind persons in the Constitution.

There are some 1,500 deaf persons in Slovenia who use the Slovenian sign language. Around 450 have a cochlear implant, some 100 are deaf-blind persons who use a tactile sign language and about 75,000 use a hearing aid.

Artistic southern Alberta dog gains worldwide attention for painting

When Megan Bolen taught her dog Rogan how to paint just over a year ago, she had no idea how much attention her clever K-9 was about to receive.

"It's very surreal to be talking to people about my painting dog. Like it still doesn't feel real. I'm sending my dog's paintings to Hong Kong. That's very surreal." She said.

Rogan's work may look a bit different from most up-and-coming artists, but considering the fact that he has no thumbs and does all the work with his mouth, his talent is undeniable.

At around three million dollars, the Bugatti Chiron is about the most expensive car you can't afford to buy. Hang on, this thread is about interesting facts, that's not interesting.
No, but the next part is. If you had paid so much for a car you would want to drive it everyday wouldn't you?
According to Bugatti's official figures, their cars only do an average of 800 miles per year. What? why pay so much and never drive the thing. There is a reason, can you guess what reason?

Times up.
Answer is that the sort of people who buy Bugattis are the sort who already have a Bentley, Porsche, BMW, Maserati, Lamboughini and Ferrari in the garage. The Bugatti is there merely to complete the set. Like an oil painting you hang on the wall and then don't look at again.

Mura upset Tottenham

Slovenia's national football champions Mura won a stunning victory over Tottenham on Thursday, 25 November in Maribor. Mura won 2:1 in n UEFA Europa conference league match.

NS Mura:

• 5th in the Slovenian league
• were only formed in 2012
• don’t have a club crest when you search them on Goog1e
• had never won a group game in Europe until Thursday
• annual budget equals approx six (6!!!) Kane’s weekly wages
• a team from the Slovenian village of Murska Sobota (population 11,000)

Fun fact: you can fit the whole population of Mura's home town roughly six times in Tottenham's home stadium :p
