What was your first CD? Something you're still proud to own? Is there a story attached to when you bought your first CD? Or have you never bought a CD ever?

The very first CD I ever bought with my 'own' pocket - money was East 17’s debut release Walthamstow. I was probably about 18 years old. :blushing:

CD? When I bought my frist record there was no such thing as a cd. :D It was a single, Nik Kershaw with "Wouldn't it be good" and I was around eight. First Long Play was from U2 (hear hear!). It was eight too. My sister told me I might not like the music (she was right! :D ). First CD might have been Mozart Sym. 40 & 41 in a very cheesy cheap recording... :D

I don't remember the title. It was the Beatles "invasion' of America.
The scandal, the outrage...was the mop head haircuts.

Twin girls, a little older than me, lived on the next street. They won a contest to meet the Beatles. They got millions of pieces of mail from young girls...really millions. I know an old friend of theirs. They still have sacks of unopened mail.

An aside to you horndog homos... there were boy twins about my age. The Hannigan boys. Little twinky boys with an attitude. Wonder what ever happened to them.

nirvana changed music in ways like black Sabbath did in its days years ago--nirvana opened up the doors to a lot of bands and to new types of music that we hear today--that's just how I feel not sure how others feel

Ayumi Hamasaki - A BEST (2001)

My first cd I bought and I become her fans until now. I remember I bought it with my high school want-to be-girlfriend in local mall. For some reason I didnt get along with her though we had some connection, well mostly she already got a boyfriend back then, I dont have a guts to tell how I felt for her. But I guess she read my mind lol. We are still a good friend, though that funny awkward feelings still there....hmm that brings some memories

I think the first CD's I bought I got in Germany in 1992. The German versions of Phantom of the Opera, and Les Miserables.

I never buy real CDs. Too expensive then and still is now. I remember my first cassette though. It's Ace of Base's The Bridge. I think it cost like $1.25 in my local currency. Bought it when I was in 10th grade with my own money.

Harry James and His Golden Trumpet. Play the horn myself. Didn't even have a player yet! Just saw it and had to have it.
