I just finished the new Queer as Folk...mixed feelings, I liked the American earlier version.
There were very few characters that had positive redeeming qualities. I like some drama as much as the next gay person, but it was a little overwhelming in this series.

IMHO Yes. I watched the 1st 4 Ep. yesterday and have just finished the totally chilling Ep 5 - set mainly in a typical american diner but getting darker and darker. Think Twin Peaks/Twilight Zone on steroids.
Production values are great as is the script and excellent cast

Yesterday watching UnCoupled on Netflix I fell asleep between EP 5 &6, so finishing watching it now. I will probably watch Sandman after that.
