I might have HIV

It doesn't mean what it used to. I've been positive since 1988 and I'm still kicking, though not as hard as I used to. (That's because I'm old, not because of my HIV.) Just trying to lighten the mood a bit. A recent multiyear large patient study of mixed pos and neg partners who did not use protection (condoms) found that none of the negative partners converted to positive. They now consider positive patients who have had an undetectable viral load for at least 6 months to be "safe". That doesn't mean that you shouldn't use condoms, as there are other STD's that can be transmitted through unprotected sex.
What I am basically trying to say is that being HIV+ today is not a death sentence. Of course it's still something to be taken very seriously and you'll have to take your meds religiously, if you want to stay healthy. Also watch your diet and don't drink a lot, if at all, as HIV affects the way your body processes alcohol. An occasional drink won't kill you, but be smart. If you have any questions, you can PM me.
