She never regained consciousness after a car crash on Friday and the circumstances are raising questions in the ongoing investigation. In a sad parallel, Anne's brother Nathan died in a car crash as a teenager. Anne claimed that it was a suicide. Her father, who came out as gay, died of AIDS. Her mother became a therapist with Focus on the Family doing ex-gay counseling. Anne had a very public relationship with Ellen DeGeneres for three years, before deciding that she wasn't gay. She was married and divorced twice in the last 10 years.
