We live just outside the area of 100% totality but the eclipse was still awesome at only 98%!

Anyone else here get a chance to go outside to view the eclipse?

Only got a partial here since totality was about 1000 miles away. But it was still pretty cool to see.

Honestly, I hardly noticed it. We had some clouds and showers in the area during the peak time and all I noticed was that it got a little darker then a normal storm - kind of a bummer. I live pretty far from the path of totality, but I was hoping for a view of a partial eclipse at least!

It was pretty cool here... we were also in the 90% area too, but it got noticeably darker and the temperature dropped a bit. :)

Even with over 99% totality, it was still too bright to see without the glasses, which were very difficult to get here. Everyone sold out of them within a couple of hours. I had to use welding goggles, which still aren't that effective. The sad part is it actually got darker for the rain today than it did during the eclipse.

You may have been disappointed but it was still an amazing moment when you consider 99% of the light coming from the sun was blocked and as you said the light was still so intensely bright you could barely tell the difference. Just sayin' ...

It was the first eclipse I went out to see. It was cool sight although my area only got about 80% coverage.

We had one in 1999. I was working in retail and due to the extra visitors hoping to witness it I had to work until midnight the day before it. Totally overslept and missed the whole thing. Our next one is due in about 60 years I think!

I was in a psych ward when it happened. I'm told I didn't miss much.
