The Eurovision Song Contest 2015 will be the 60th edition of the annual Eurovision Song Contest. The contest will take place in Vienna, Austria, following Conchita Wurst's victory in the 2014 edition with the song "Rise Like a Phoenix". This will be the second time that Austria will host the contest after holding its 1967 edition also in Vienna. The contest will consist of two semi-finals which will take place on 19 and 21 May, and a final on 23 May 2015. The shows will be presented by Mirjam Weichselbraun, Alice Tumler and Arabella Kiesbauer. Forty countries will participate in the contest, with Australia debuting as a guest entrant, and Cyprus, the Czech Republic, and Serbia returning. Ukraine, however, announced their withdrawal due to financial and political reasons.

ROMANIA: Voltaj - De La Capat

voltaj6.jpg

"De la capăt" (English: From the beginning) is a song performed by Romanian band Voltaj, which will represent Romania in Vienna. Voltaj has existed since 1982 as a pop-rock group in Romania already. It is a very popular band in their home country (in 2005 they were awarded the Best Romanian Act in the MTV Europe Music Awards), with millions of fans, and their song De la capăt has a serious theme: The loneliness of children. "The Eurovision Song Contest has an extremely big visibility, which of course helps the theme of our song and the campaign behind it", frontman Călin Goia explains.

MALTA: Amber - Warrior

m4lta.jpg

Amber will represent Malta in this year's Eurovision Song Contest, and will carry the hopes of the small island nation with the song Warrior. The winning song was determined by the votes of five judges and televoting. All the jurors awarded their maximum points to Amber, The televoters favoured also favoured Warrior. Amber says that her song has a simple, motivational message to which everyone can relate to. ''Through our lives each and every one of us has suffered some sort of pain, be it physical or emotional, caused either by heartbreak, illness, etc.'' Her song is within itself a message to inspire those who need it most.

SPAIN: Edurne - Amanecer

edurne2.jpg

It's always a time filled with rumours when the date approaches for the Spanish broadcaster, TVE, to announce the act that will represent Spain in the Eurovision Song Contest. And it was no exception this year: Some of the big names mentioned were Pablo Alborán, Marta Sánchez and... the actual candidate Edurne! The popular female artist has been chosen internally by Spanish Television with a song fully in Spanish called Amanecer which means "dawn". Edurne described it herself as a high quality pop song. It will be presented to the audience in the forthcoming weeks.
