He doused his boss in fuel and shot a fireball into his chest while he slept
A man who set fire to his boss because of ‘unwanted homosexual advances’ has been jailed for five years and four months.
David Scott, 32, was a sheep shearer in the Australian state of Western Australia when he committed the crime.
He was working for the victim, Anthony Charles Wray in July last year.
As Wray slept, Scott doused him in petrol and then using a burning broomstick to send a fireball into the caravan cabin where his boss was sleeping.
Scott was hit in the chest with the fireball before running out of the cabin. As he ran out he saw Scott near his cabin, holding the burning broomstick.
District Court of WA Judge David Parry who sentenced Scott said the crime was ‘bizarre and potentially catastrophic’ for Wray.
‘You looked at him and said nothing,’ Judge Parry said.
Scott was sober when he attacked Wray and said he attacked him because of unwanted homosexual advances.
‘The jury obviously did not accept your version of events,’ Judge Parry said.
