I use [Only Registered Users Can See LinksClick Here To Register], it's free and browser-based!
You paste the post URL on the site (like [Only Registered Users Can See LinksClick Here To Register]) and click on Get Video.
Then, after you see the thumbnail, you right-click on Download and click on Save link as.

With a video playing in Tumblr, right click on it, and click on the option to View Frame Source
- this opens a new html tab in your browser, where you should use CTRL + F to find mp4
- the highlighted URL before this is the video location; you can either click on this to open it in a new tab, or, right-click on it, and use the Save As option to download it.
In this example, you will notice that the video URL ends with /480, which means that there is also a higher-definition version of the video available - to download this version, the URL should be copied, and the /480 stripped off the end, and then loaded in a browser tab, where it can be downloaded directly, by right-clicking, e.g. the higher-definition video for this example is at the URL below
