As I have had 2 trips to Accident & Emergency and other hospital visits recently I have found myself watching some of the "24Hrs in A&E" do
entaries. Content varies between serious trauma; sprained ankles and kids with lego pieces stuck up their nose.
There is one, a "Cardio Special" focussing only on heart problems - not sure if I'm ready to watch that one yet.... or ever X_XX_X

I have finished re-watching the Russell T Davis series "Cu
ber" and I had forgotten just how damn good it is! Sexy, dark, funny and at times surreal.Cu
ber tells the story of a group of multi-layered, disparate characters whose sexual exploits are depicted honestly and unflinchingly, There is a freewheeling often farcical tone - but also unapologetically blunt with its characters issues with sex (fear, shame, avoidance, addiction); it flips between humour; joy and misery. A sparkling script (as you would expect from Russell) and the main leads are superb, in particular the lead character, Henry Best, played by Vincent Franklin who is outstanding as a man spiralling through his mid-life crisis....Outstanding drama - recommended!! :thumbs up: (and still available to stream on the UK All4 streaming service, if you have access to it)
If you wonder where Russell got the idea to call it Cu
ber (and the linked series - Banana & Tofu)......

Ackley Bridge..
Currently re-watching this C4 series (from the creators of Shameless).... It follows the lives of a Yorkshire mill town, who are affected by a merger (due to funding cuts) of two schools in a largely segregated British and Asian community. Filled with thought-provoking topics of racism, poverty, bullying, sexuality and violence, this drama is based on real life cases of schools that have merged. The headmistress of Ackley Bridge College deals with never ending problems and explosive fall-outs as the prejudicial and cultural issues clash between pupils, staff and parents. At times funny yet heartbreaking - recommended if you can track it down. Three series so far - the Covid-19 delayed 4th due to be aired later this year, hence the re-watch
