Citing security concerns and Iran's notoriously horrific treatment of the homosexuals- who, as we all know, do not exist on its territory- a number of gay KLM stewards have expressed their wish to no longer be scheduled for one of the airline's 5 weekly trips to Teheran.
According to a union spokesperson, KLM has a list of employees who are not flying on that route because of 'unpleasant experiences' in the Islamic republic. This list so far only contains female employees of the airline and is 'currently closed'.
Apparently, only gays and females make up KLM's cabin crew, as union people explain that it's a nasty situation, since gay cabin crew members 'would have to be replaced by female ones, who would be forced to wear headscarves in Iran, which often they do not like'.
KLM told newspaper AD that it will consider measures if the situation for its employees should actually become dangerous.
