so do you think virtual reality is the future of gaming or do you think it's just a fad.

Too expensive right now. Mostly on rails, getting motion sickness. No money in making them. Apart from that I don't want to actually run or jump physically. So there is the issue of how to create movement.

I think it'll be like 3D. If done well it'll be good. But most studios won't produce games well enough so motion sickness, dizziness and all the other problems will turn people against it very quickly.

But what do I know.

I don't see the point in it all. Why do we need 3d, virtual reality, and 4k graphics? what happened to just playing the game? why do we need all of those new gimmicks? look all the games that came before, they were great and we loved them. I was in a game shop the other day and this kid came in to trade in his Xbox one for and Xbox one s just because it supposed to be better then he will just turn around and get the Xbox one x when it comes out. why cant people just enjoy what they have. I'm saying this to put down any ones taste if you like those things good for you. this is just how I feel

Quite agree. I hate when my old consoles die. And regret that I sold my Mega Drive and Play Station for a quick pound.

VR is good for jump scare games and such. If they can find a way to integrate it with other people it will skyrocket. As jazzeven said (above) it will rely heavily on the hardware and network capability. I see it more as something to do with friends/family at an amusement park; VR lazertag that you actually run around in or an action platform. Maybe for exercise, if you want to imagine you are running outside in an area different from where you are instead of on a treadmill.

VR is expensive but i can see it becoming more popular and affordable (at least cheaper than it currently is)

And i can see more of those XXX pornographic games being made for it in the market.

I've already played over 90 hours of Skyrim VR with a very cute follower. I don't think VR will ever be a complete substitute for normal games in general, but it won't go away anymore either.

It is definitely the future if tech keeps evolving in leaps and bounds. The VRMMO world in Ready Player One would be absolutely amazing. I'd be in heaven, lol. For any anime fans, it would be like Sword Art Online, except for the whole being trapped and dying irl part, lol.
