Mainstream comic's first gay kiss

Rictor for Marvel's 'X-Factor'For those unfamiliar with comic books, Marvel is one of the leaders in mainstream paneled fiction (introducing the world to the likes of Spiderman, the Avengers, and the X-men). It has introduced gay characters, like the Canadian hottie North Star, but these homos were pretty much neutered. But no more!

Peter David's 'X-Factor' (issue 45) will include the first man-on-man kiss between lovers Rictor and Shatterstar.

And don't expect anyone to wake up and say it was all just a bad dream. "No, it’s not a fake out," David said. "A number of people seem to be concerned that Star is still under Cortex’s control. Or that Rictor is going to freak out the next panel and say, 'Dude, what the hell?' That would be cheap. I don’t do cheap. Okay, sometimes I do, but not this time.'"

It's one panel, but you know what they say: one panel can change the world

Weird. I've never noticed that the dozens of gay characters never kissed before. If that's true then it's about damn time, especially with all the lesbian kisses that have already happened in the comics.

I'm pretty sure that Apollo and Midnighter kissed during Ellis' run on The Authority.

Maybe they don't count The Authority as mainstream.

i remember reading X-MAN Ultimate, and in there Collossus is clearly gay and even got a BF after he gets out of the closet.
(the whole thing with Nightcrawler getting nervus because of what it tells about him was amusing)
although i dont think they actually kissed (collossus with his BF)

Yeah, I read most of that, too, and no, they never kissed on-panel.

i wonder if anyone actually made a slash comics of any of the Marvel chars
