The german government decided to rehabilitate homosexuals who were arrested and convicted for § 175 penal code.
Details - in comparison to the generous solutions in other Western countries: 1. They don't have to be dead. (I really love this one).
2. There will be money/compensation for the fact itself and for each year. Not very much but I guess what the victims of this law need and desire is a kind of public apology and gesture. It still can sum up to several thousand Euros which is comparable to innocent people who had to do jail time.
3. There will be no single case investigation, which can be embarassing and painful and would effectively stop people from applying for their right. Excluded are only cases in which other offences (like offenses against the physical integrity) have been involved.
I guess there is no english link yet, so no link.
As for the § 175 who was in the Penal Code till 1994, it hadn't been used till the early eighties any more. So the youngest people who will be involved are around 60 now. It's late but not too late.
