There are few surprises here: The more tolerant the society and the better the legal protection, the better the gays do. The countries with full marriage equality or everything-but-the-name same-sex-unions get high marks (Portugal just introduced it, so their mark is quite low, but I'm sure they'll be quick to catch up), while you should put your relocation to Turkey, Russia ort he Ukraine on hold for the time being.

Very interesting!! I've lived in 3 of those countries (Sweden included) and traveled through the majority of them, and you can definitely notice the difference!!

Same-sex Marrige is now fully legal in Portugal, adoption is coming quickly, but not yet.

I often wonder if your posts have anything to do with the topic on hand - no one in this thread even mentioned the term "gay community" so why this random tangent of yours? :?

I live in Belgium, and it's definitely one of the best countries to live in as a gay person. Lets hope the other countries will make efforts to improve their 'scores'.
