she has enough trouble as it is!!! but her sis sent it for her Bday...and now i have to go there an set up a wireless system..ouchhhhhh

how often do you have to help with comp shit?
 
I work in IT, and my family know it, so, I do a lot of family IT support :)

I did make my life a LOT easier a few years ago when I got Windows out of the equations.

"I don't use Windows any more, so I'm out of touch with it can can't help you with Windows problems" (not 100% true because I do have to use Windbolws in work, usually the thing that puts grey hairs on my head!)

Result - I'm now supporting a family of Macs, and I have a lot less to do!

My Mum has a Kindle now, she finds it easier than books, and with a bit of help can download just about anything she wants.

The other nice thing about it is , I don't know if it's true for all, but she doesn't need any wireless connection, it's all built in to connect to Amazon. Browsing is free, sampling the first 3 or 4 chapters is free. Almost tempted to get one myself, I might find those elusive books I couldn't find in the local libraries.

My real problem is finding the time to actually read these days :p

- And hey, I raised them well.. they use chrome and not internet explorer

I have a kindle fire and LOVE IT! Setting up the wireless connection is easy and once it latches onto it, it remembers and you don't have to worry about it ever again.
Also get a couple apps for her and you won't even have to buy her a real mothers day gift! Angry Birds is addictive and like 99 cents or even free!

she hasnt even tried it yet..but mothers day is sunday sooooo...lol

and im still trying to figure out why everytime she goes on comp it sends a message saying...whatever!!!!!! sheesh...arggggggg
