he`s really really hot for sure. i just dont know if you guys are aware of this, but he suffered an accident couple of years ago, i guess while driving his motorcycle, but the fact is that the Fernando is now paraplegic.

I read somewhere that he had an accident and now on wheelchair. I also read that he can still walk someday which is a good news. And yes, he is hot.

Paracanoe as his Escape



Fernando Fernandes's life change dramatically after an accident left him paralysed from the waist down. His enthusiasm and maturity and a priority on maintaining a healthy mind and healthy body has seen Fernando make it not just into Team Brazil but also a Canoeing World Champion.

His rise in Paracanoe has been truly remarkable considering Fernando competed and won the World Championships just 13 months after his accident. Since the crash in Sao Paulo last July, the young athlete's life has revolved around canoeing. He told reporters, “I'm fascinated by kayaking. It gives me a feeling of immense freedom and of being equal with people. I'm using sport as an escape valve.”

Fernando said he has a dream to participate in a Paralympic Games commenting, “I like to live. I will not let this thing that happened to me change my life completely. I will try to overcome it doing what I like best; sport.”
