Ok, I have a desktop computer which is the bomb, and I bought it about a year ago...little over a year ago.
I have been playing video games, listening to music, and other stuff...obviously porn, since i'm in this forum
Anyways, I thought I had it all, with integrated graphics and audio (most newer motherboards come with pretty OK video and sound support).
I DIDN'T REALIZE WHAT I WAS MISSING !?!
A workmate, and adorable he is...anyways...
a workmate recently bought a new alienware laptop computer, and it's nice, though it has a small screen...but I noticed the graphics were a lot smoother than I've seen in a while. So I did a little more research into what exactly integrated graphics do...and while they are nice, having a dedicated video card, and/or sound card, helps, because it saves your computer the processing time, AND it allows you to experience dedicated graphics/audio.
I installed a $35 video card...free shipping from amazon.com (yes I love them, they have that pedophile thing listed on their site...whatever I don't care in the slightest... in fact, probably the opposite...lol ) AND the very next game I played, you could tell !
The graphics are smoother, and it's not just a small difference, it's huge. And this is just 2D, not to mention 3D ( I happen to be a slight WOW addict too).
So anyways, I also surfed online to tigerdirect.com and found a nice sound card for $59.99, BUT amazon.com listed the same item for $30 with free shipping ! So it's on it's way, and I can't wait to have that baby installed.
So for only $65 extra dollars, my computer got a major upgrade...
Long story short, DO IT! Upgrade your computer, it's worth it, and it's fun to install yourself (assuming your warranty has already expired, because once you open the computer case, the warrantly is no longer valid). Need help installing? Check out youtube, there's an awesome video tutorial on how to install your own sound card, and the same lesson applies to video cards, they are identical installation-wise.
Also, I bought a webcam, but more on that later...
love all,
jeff c
