since a few weeks i have that screen with the message: you didn't contribute and so on. So i clicked on the general discussion button and got the message page not found. So i couldn't contribute. Now i found a new way to enter the general discussion area and post this. Next time i will tell a story of my youth.

I forgot the way to post a new threat, i hope the modorators fix this problem in the next days

Okay, from now on I visit the site once a month to, because nothing is still functioning properly.
The transition between different forums lasts forever and starting new topics or posts delivers only "502 Bad Gataway" on .... this will probably sound like criticism, but it is not the first time that the site is on the sucker and let off, what's going on guys, this is not funny anymore .... HEHEHEHEHE !!!

First of all, Ramzie--Your promise post will probably have gotten you off the dunning list and you no longer receive that message when you log in. You have a reprieve. The message won't come again for some time. I've gotten off it with less. Standards for what constitutes a contribution are not comprehensible to me.

The forum is very erratic lately. I guess we have to put up and shut up.

We do the best we can with VERY LIMITED RESOURCES.

Of course we could always do like some other sites and bombard you with ads, pop-ups, pop-unders, redirects, etc. to generate enough cash flow to pay for faster servers and and more professional staff...

Thanks Brmstn69 for this "slap in the face". Surely it is very annoying and frustrating in the moment to be underway on GH. But you have given here a reason or some reasons we have to except, even if it will be difficult to except. But everything in life is requiring MONEY. And so we will be happy that GH is until now a "free" board for all of us. So let us hope that all these difficulties will be solved in the near future. So, from my side, a great thanks to the whole volunteer staff for their work.

But nevertheless a request or an advice for the future: it would be really very nice of the staff to inform all of us in the future if something is wrong with a short note. So no one must think that his PC or laptop is defect. Thank you!

Shelter thanks that's what I also find a small piece of information (since appeared in "The help center") so panic, kretiek and misunderstandings can be avoided.
At this also my thanks to all those who sometimes have to lead in difficult situations.

There has been some talk about starting a back-up blog to inform members of forum issues. But we can't get a fucking thread started to discuss it...

I'm not sure a back-up blog is the answer and I base that on personal experience.

Many forums I once belonged to eventually disappeared completely without explanation. This sort of thing happens.

Thankfully GH has a loyal and vocal membership who depend on GH. They become concerned when things go wrong. That shows how important GH is in their lives. Also, the staff of GH are understanding and allow members to sound off about inconsistent service or server errors. I'm sure the staff are more troubled by the errors than members because they have to Moderate new posts and maintain older posts.

Members should not freak out each time problems arise. GH will be around for years to come. And it's okay to complain. Go ahead. Get it all out of your system. You'll feel better. The staff here are adults and they do a great job of overlooking most of the raw nerves and emotional responses.

I'm like every one else and I freak out sometimes too
