Ebook Reader - best one?

Kindle Paperwhite. I have had 2 over the last few years. Works great, light, and enough adjustable size of text to make it comfortable. For awhile I read Graphic Novels on my Surface Pro and while the weight got a little much after a couple of hours of reading it worked really well as a reader.

Yes I think I will go for a Kindle Paperwhite signature. I am trying to get back into reading and transition away from 'screen culture'. I know it's still a screen, but it at least simulates real paper and is presumably less hypnotic. Bye, bye doom-scrolling at 2am?
As I live in Asia, a Kobo is less expensive than a Kindle. I could have gotten a Kobo, except that I ordered a second Kindle Paperwhite before I knew I could order a Kobo locally. I now have two Kindle readers, an older 2018 model and a 2023 version. The newer version has dark mode, which makes reading at night gentler on the eyes. But sideloading ebooks into the latest version is not supported. I have to upload them to my Kindle Library online over the Internet.

i have both a kindle basic (previous generation) and a kobo libra color. I much prefer my kobo purely because it has side buttons which makes it easier to navigate. The color is a plus, although not everyone likes it. It's a lot easier to sideload. that said, a kindle is small enough to be held in one hand comfortably and even fits in my pocket, which makes it a nice portable option.
