when do you pay your power bill?

i was talking to some one in germany..thay pay it yearly..
and in belgium its like every 3 monthes...

here: in the states its every month...same with all bills

not sure i would want a big bill at end of yr xmas and all going on:worried: lol

In Holland you pay every month in advance a centain part. Once a year the powercompany looks if the montly part is enough or too less or too much. Is it too less than you have to pay the diffence is it too much you get the difference back.

And you never pay what you were using, you pay what your expected to use, based on what you were using in the past. And then at the end of the year they tell you if you payed to much, then you will get a refund and pay less the next year, or if you payed not enough, then you have to pay what's left and will pay more the next year.

I pay once a month here in the States. I'm on what they call flatbill. They average what you use the year before and you pay the same rate for 12 months and they do it again in 12 months and so on. I've been on it a few years now and it goes up a couple of bucks each. The good thing is I know what my bill is each month.

I live in Holland too and do same as Ramzie, this year I expect a big refund since I was not at home during the coldest period of the year But I will kep same monthly payments so I not get surprised next year (that I have to pay extra)

I pay the same amount every month. I am on a budget plan which works great. Make it much easier to budget our my money each mouth. The power company re-evaluates your your account once a year. Mine has gone a little bit every year since I started it 3 years ago. I like it.
