My Father has been gone for 4 years now, sometimes I miss him, what I miss the most is the relationship I wished we would have had...

My father did terrible things to me (not to mention that affair he had with my first wife)...things he never said he was sorry for...but for some reason, I still always showed him respect and still loved him...now I'm glad I did that, but I wished our relationship could have been different, but I remind myself...."I" could only do so much and "I" did; so I am at peace with it...

what I am saying...love and honor him as your father with actions...even if it isn't returned...because later...it will give you peace. I think fathers day is for those people who have trouble saying it normally...the special day forces you to do it....take advantage of the day...you will feel better about it later.
