I recently focused on cadinot videos,which I thought were really nice.....

Some of the best porn in the world in the 80's and 90's, and totally different from the film/clips coming out of the USA from studios like Nova and Falcon etc. It's really hard these days to appreciate how groundbreaking they were back in the Good Old Days now when hundreds of studios release hundreds of formulaic films every week, both in the USA & Europe, but I can (almost) remember when the release of a Cadinot film was a big event.

I think the studio lost its way in the early 2000's, especially after Cadinot died a few years back, but, at his height, some of his films are better and more sexual and more erotic than anything published anywhere in the world in a last few years.

One important thing to recall is that much of his work came out before the Internet, before the mass commercialisation of sex and in a different age when hard-core porn was totally banned in the UK and attitudes everywhere were much more prudish and looked-down-on.

Nothing will beat a Cad1n0t film.

I remember my first Cad1n0t film was the one where the guy was the courier bike person going around Paris and all the fun he had on the way including in the back of the ambulance. Then there were those two army ones.

Just nothing at the time would come close to a Cad1n0t film.

I do remember reading or watching a doentary on him and how he did his magic. Always having the top guy having one leg raised on a box so that he could get his camera in and also forcing the top guy to push out his prostate area for us all to see the nice bump!

He also had the right amount of light, even in dark scenes but we could still see the action.

And even still today nothing compares to the early Cad1n0t films.

You are certainly not the only one who likes the work of Cadinot. It was in the early seventies of the last century that I saw his first works. He was a photographer.
His photos were of a sensational beauty. He had an extreme eye for details and created an atmosphere that matched to his model(s). He was able to make from a rather average boy a sensational attractive and sensual photo.
(I think he was inspired by the painter Scot Henry Tuke and the photographer Von Gloeden).

In 1978 he started to make videos. Different from all the current gay porn he spent a lot of attention to details, the composition and technical aspects. The critics were not always enthusiastic. They were no movies, but a sequence of photos, they wrote. I totally disagreed with that opinion. I worshipped his work. And without any doubt it influenced modern gay porn highly.

His parents were tailors, lived in Paris, near the Montmartre. Funny, they made a habit of dressing males. He mainly undressed them.

He was born February 10, 1944 and died April 23, 2008 (64 years and 2 month old).

And I was among the former models to be at his funeral in 2008 in his hometown... Cadinot was the best no doubt... the greatest, the most versatile and internationalized... male beauty for him had no boundaries of races, religion and forms... when you were cute for JD, you were cute Punto Finalmente. No one today could ever equals his work and they can try. George Duroy (Belami) tried but if he would just a little let some colors in its model farm that would make him a bigger star then he is. Therefore JDC was before its time... way before its time and for having worked with him we were just not fucking... we we're making LOVE that's what he asked of us and that what we gave him because he knew how to direct his models. :cheers:

No envy to be had... first this wasn't an International career it was just porn, and JDC often said it... Cadinot was a perfectionist, therefore, we know for a fact that most perfectionists have some moments of craziness... and if JDC didn't sleep well the day before a shoot you'd know about it :rofl:.

agree with gb2000ie, some of the scenes were too extreme for my tastes, but i have a helluva lot of his movies and some of my favourite scenes are from them...

Gritty and edgy are two qualities you find in French porn. They are great if that's what you like. You can still get it in sites such as Citebeur, Claire Productions and to some extent Eric Videos. Now if you are longing for the atmosphere, I think, William Higgins, Falcon and the other American pornographers provided that too in their films from the seventies and eighties.

I remember reading an interview with him where he was complaining about the job of always finding 'new talent'. I had never thought of it as a 'job' up until then.
