I've only read the first page, but the answer to the OP's question is yes, I want to marry and have babies (2 boys, 1 girl.. don't ask why, I'm not sure myself) with another guy. I don't mean adoption though, I'm not sure I could do that. I want to raise a child from birth with a loving husband in a nice house with his family close to us as mine would probably ditch me if they knew I was gay. The ironic thing is that I'm probably going to be the most successful one in the family as a doctor so maybe not because my parent will need financial aid when they're older. On a side not, it actually REALLY depresses me when you guys say that long-term relationships don't really exist between homosexuals.

Hi Lui and Inte. What a nice conversation. As if I am discussing with my youngest son. Our worlds are so different. Youngsters live in a different world than mine at that age. They have a million times more. But (there is always “a but”) they don’t have the biggest treasure of my youth: unorganized life. Possessions were few then, but so were regulations. That influenced individuality. Look at the cars and the motorcycles of those days; they all had a strong identity. Modern life is organized. Cirstances are better. Cars and motorcycles are better and far more reliable. So the large toolkit I had to carry every holiday isn’t necessary anymore. That’s pleasant, but on the other hand a part of the adventure disappeared. Organized life kills individuality. People do things exactly how it should be done. Gays have special feelings. They differ from the majority. Organizing that to normality steels its adventure. As if you make Messi an average football player.
Hm, reading these lines I can understand that I cannot convince my son about these feelings. Maybe Lui understands, ha, ha.

I do! Oh I do! But I guess it has to do with my specific personal cirstances. I was born in 1976 I lived in a communist country where being gay was not exactly forbidden but also not too welcome. As a youngster I had a friend who had some close contacts with some of the very few gay activists at that time and I know they were actually starting from nothing. Although in western world gay movement was already developed to the fullest we were on the very beginning as I said. I wish I kept at least some samples of those first gay magazine they printed in early nineteens which I practically ate with my hungry teenage curiosity. It was a gay cultural magazine clearly expressing the gay identity I described in the posts earlier. There was no idea of fighting for marriage present at that time - on the contrary: being gay actually meant "We don't need marriage!". Being gay meant being special and unique, being slightly provocative, daring but peaceful and joyful - in one word: gay.

I'm also not saying that fighting for gay rights was wrong. Absolutely not. It was a very needed fight! And fortunately quite successful. But I believe that today's gay movement came to some kind of dead end with this marriage thing. While everybody runs out of marriage, gays want into marriage. Lol. Strange enough. Real gay movement is slightly vanishing in my opinion. It is being driven over by some vast rich worldwide political gay enterprise which is doing anything but favour to gay people. We're getting lost in some organized forms of life, dictated by governments again, warped in hundreds of rules and laws how gays should live and be. In one word: we're getting straight!

I wouldn't call it nostalgia (although I'm a dreamer ). I'd call it pointing to foundations of a gay movement. Making progress doesn't necessary means denouncing your roots. I believe there are certain rules typical for all social movements. They have their ups and downs along history. I believe gay people will again search and re-discover their original identity in the frames of general society in the future. It will happen by itself - as a consequence of admitting the mistakes of the past.

And what purpose does it make just going with a flow? Accepting whatever happens or is dictated by someone stronger? I mean I will always remain gay which to me - means being politically incorrect if necessary, rebellious when needed, and always proud and faithful to myself - giving gay pride its true traditional meaning.
