European versus American body length and size

When I watch European vids, the male performers are usually very thin, lanky, and emaciated looking, and I'm not talking about nutrition or fat, but their entire skeletal frame looks thin and long as well. I'm not trying to be xenophobic or anything, but the difference is very apparent. Maybe it's the camera and the lens, but it looks the same from studio to studio. What do you think?

Have you noticed that in Africa they tend to have a different skin colour? And in Asia they tend to be shorter? The world is a diverse place, there are differences between the average appearance of the people inhabiting different parts of this globe. How is this shocking?

I would certainly not describe Europeans as looking emaciated though, I don't think that's fair. Tall and thin is more the norm here though, and we are not as of yet suffering as badly from the plague of obesity that's gripping the US.

When we speak about race, there is no such thing as a European. There are big differences between North and South. I am from The Netherlands. Dutch natives are often blond, but several have dark hair. We are tall (the tallest people in the world, I heard). I am born shortly after the end of WWII. I was of average length and weight. Nowadays I have to look up to see the youngsters into their eyes. (I am 64 years old now, used to be blond, but now my hair is white (not gray), 180 cm tall, breast 101 cm, waist 90 cm, weight 70.5 kilo). My daughter (blond) and my sons (1 blond and 1 dark) are substantially taller than me. Some years ago my daughter visited Rome. Being a pretty tall blond she was surrounded by dark haired (short) Italian boys who overloaded her with compliments. The funniest one was: “are you a basketball player?”
I love variety. Each race has his specialties and own beauty. I admire the strength and flexibility of the black, the sophistication of the yellow, the indomitable of the Eskimo. In modern life countries become melting pots of races. In our country there are a lot of people who object to this multicultural society. I don’t understand that. It makes life more interesting. So let’s come together.

Americans are obsessed with "hardcore bodies". In every movie, TV show or song its about muscles, muscles, muscles. The ideal of Greek beauty is the American view of beauty as well. In Europe, the more "natural" look is preferred. I don;t go for the gym bunnies, I like a more natural look myself

LOL!!! I don't think emaciated is quite the right word. Still, it got a laugh out of me. But I have to admit, as an/a United States resident since birth I also have been inundated with the "greek physic," and I'm gaga for them.
However, I've always wondered about this idea, and if it has anything to do with history, even the way "Americans" dress is a bit different from Europeans, when people from Asia and Europe pay a visit, I'm often told that Americans have such casual wardrobes.
People are right though, people all over the world look different, I've never visited Russia, but I don't think all Russian boys look like twinks and the countries I've visited, like England and Germany, have quite a few husky men. Personally, I do like my Men At Play. However, recently I paid a visit to China, the last generation is truly short, at 5"8' I towered over some older people, but the youngest generation that didn't suffer through famines and food rationing (that's what I'm told by the grandmas themselves, so don't hate me) are pretty tall, though I visited only the cities.

I don't like how this topic just generalizes and entire region and 825 million people into one small category.

Bigger dick, Smaller dick, fatter, slimmer, taller, shorter, lighter, darker.. very soon we're going to discuss which continent got the more attractive people.. Honestly, who really cares?

The world is a diverse place, and people come in various shapes and sizes, regardless of where they were born and where their ancestry lies. Not all Asians are short, not all Irish people gingers, not all Germans blond, not everyone born in Africa black.

Just broaden your horizon more and admire the variety we got now, because in the future as humans evolve these differences will dwindle and there will be more similarities in the way we look, speak and interact, and these differences which we make an issue of now will all be a petty thing of the past.

Many folks there are so thin, and as OP said "emaciated", because in fact... they've been born in very poor countries, since all of Eastern Europe suffered a huge economic breakdown after the fall of the USSR, and they had barely recovered when the current Great Depression Reloaded took them in its grip.
