01 Main Street of Los Gatos, California. Even the woman
looking at the ruins is part of the mural.



02 Taylor Hall, California State University in Chico
California. The columns in Doric style are paintings.



03 Honolulu, Hawaii.
The painting shows Queen Liliuokalani, who was the last monarch of the islands Hawaii.
Also shows duke Kahanamoku the father of surfing



04 This mural in Café Truque dos Olhos (must belong to the artist) in São José
(California) is entitled: Art imitating life Hard to believe, but the customer on the right is part of the mural



05 Twenty-nine Palms, California.
The bull Valentine and a patient bird await the
artist wake up. All are part of the painting.

This is the same photo, side by side. They are not taken at different angles. Both sides are the same, pixel for pixel.

These two pictures are identical.

This was a great bafflement to the internet earlier this year, but it actually has some precedent - something called the Leaning Tower Illusion, featuring two identical photos of the Leaning Tower of Pisa.

According to the creators of that illusion, it's likely because we perceive the two images as one whole scene. If we were standing in front of it looking at it directly, the street on the left would be turning more to the right.

This happens because we possess depth perception and an instinctive understanding of perspective - our brains automatically "correct" the angle as if we were looking at a single scene in three dimensions.
