Parachute Jump, Coney Island, Brooklyn, NY opened 1939 for the World's Fair. Now a National Landmark.

As an added piece of info. When your parachute hit the top (you were suspended beneath it in a harness), you would then free fall, until your parachute opened, just like a real parachute, and the person would sort of bounce up slightly, as it opened, slowing you down. It also used to break down a lot and you would frequently see people suspended in the air, just like in this picture, until they got it working, again. That sucker is also damn high, too.

In 1975 Motobécane bought Vélosolex, only the 3800 is kept and sold under the name Motobécane.

Red or blue are the colors of the new Solex 3800 Luxe. Inox fenders (1969)


Solex 3800 Super Luxe in 1970 : Entirely white with inox fenders and chromed exhaust. There is a larger choice for the Solex 3800 but people continue to choose it black and Standard!


On the right : Solex 5000 with smaller wheels presented in 1971.


1973 : Solex Tenor, the last model of the constructor, is more classic than the Flash above, renamed 6000. Anyway, both are some marketing failures.


At the beginning Motobecane continue the production of the 5000. (around 1976)


During a short time Solex 3800 get the headlight and the lift-motor lever of the old 5000 (1985 - rare today).
Motobecane bought by Yamaha become MBK.


1986-88 : The last Solex in color again! A true headlight of glass instead of plastic. New brake handles.


November 1988 : Small event in Paris with the last Solex stopped after 42 production years.
