Gender.

The majority of all humans is female.
Despite that fact women are discriminated everywhere, even in the "modern" democracies in Europe and North America.

@Amirza: Only seeing your name I would not be able to tell what country/culture you're from. And though I have now seen your picture, I would not be able to tell what country your from. Not even now that I know that your muslim.

Inte, I assume that you already expected it, but cocky I could not make a proper choice out of the alternatives you offer. For me the most important thing is something I could not find in English. In Dutch we talk about “gezond verstand” (healthy sense). Translated to English you get “common sense”, but actually that is exact the opposite of what I mean. Common means something as “most people” and I mean exactly the opposite of that. So I created a new concept for you, Englishmen: “private sense”.
Let me give an example of private sense:
Gay people are a minority in society. In common sense this can lead to the opinion that gay is abnormal, a thing that should be cured, if possible.
In my private sense I say: humans are few of all species who mainly do sex for fun, not for reproduction. Shortage of offspring seems not to be an urgent matter. So since it is mainly fun and not for reproduction what does it matter how you sex and with whom (man/women, women/women, man/man)? And if any shortage in offspring is relevant, man en wife have to do their duty.
This kind of arguing can lead to surprising and refreshing results.
Another example:
In the early seventies I visited “Saint Tropez”. It was the domain of the extremely rich people. Around the harbour every evening there was a bizarre spectacle. The harbour was full with expensive yachts, strangely all with their stern anchored to the quay. The boulevard alongside the harbour was filled with thousands and thousands of “normal” people. All watching the rich ones who all had a party on the poop of the yacht (every boat). I felt sorry for the poor rich people who had to wear their life in such a mental poverty. I decided never to get rich. At least that is one of the goals I achieved in my life (and I never regretted it).

I had a lot of such different opinions in my life and I’ve noticed that common sense (normality) hates this kind of arguing. But idiots like me can’t be stopped!

I would say..and mind you..this is just my opinion..(1) gender-I knew someone who was going through the process of transgender changing and they were met with so much turnoil and prejudice that their life was threatened several times and they were physically abused as well. (2) sexual orientation-as much as time progresses, within the minority community, this is still a harsh reality to deal with. I know this first hand. (3) race- race is a prevelant issue in mainstream society which I've experienced in the corporate world in my professional career, especially when you are just as intelligent as your white counterparts and within the gay community as well. I can recall a very handsome white guy who really liked me but he received so much drama from his friends and therefore, he was forced to not pursue the relationship to another level. (4) religion-this is a subject matter that really disappoints me to no end. For example, being new in my neighborhood, I visited a church about a block down from my residence. Due to the fact that I was brought up to wear a suit, a nice shirt and tie to church and because I sat in the back of the church alone. On my third visit to this church, I was called into a meeting with the Board of Directors where I was accused of being gay because of my sitting alone and as they said, I dress so immaculate for a man.

I voted for travelers as the identity most subject to discrimination simply because when I examined my own prejudices, that's where I seemed to have the most negative stereotypes & biases.
It also varies from country to country and within countries, but it seems to me the unifying factor is what I call tribalism: those accepted within my mind as being part of "my" community and those seen as being "outside".
By the way, another group that could easily be on that list is people with criminal convictions. Many of us have very negative views about people whom we know have broken the law in the past. We tend to not trust them, or at least I do.

You can't compare suffering, and so I don't think there is a valid answer as to who suffers the "most." Personally, gender is very important to me, however from the other angle--throughout history males have been brutalized, discriminated against, treated as disposable by society, jammed into restrictive cruel gender roles, and subjected to extreme amounts of violence--this continues into modern times. I also find children's rights and GLBT issues very important; and I respect people who are interested in linking up issues and struggles instead of just dividing into "most important" camps.

That of the 'traveler' also greatly incites me--in the various places I've lived in the U.S, there has always been so much discrimination, tension, and hate regarding who is supposedly "from here" (and thus belongs here) or not, but regardless I wasn't rewarded that label even in the place I was born--for one reason or another (my sexuality, the fact that I didn't conform to gender roles, my age, my interests...)

I voted for sexual orientation for obvious reasons...

However "Marital Status" was a very close second. Mostly because as a single person the government penalizes me at tax time. I am a single person paying all the household expenses myself, while a married couple with two incomes who are splitting household expenses gets a tax break...
On top of that, if that couple has children, they also get a bigger tax break...

So as a single, childless person getting no help from the government I have to pay extra. While married people with kids who are a bigger burden on government resources pay less. So because I'm single, I have to pick up the slack for them...

I think a lot of it would be based on what part of the country you live in, your financial status and to be honest, looks, IMO.

I don't understand why sexual preference is not easily the most voted on????
In this country(US) we are considered less than the rest, sinners and perverts(most of us are pervs lol) who aren't afforded the rights of straights.
In other countries it is against the law and jail time is the harsh punishment.
Still other countries will hang you in public because of being gay.

I'm sorry, but I've never heard of a fucking "traveler" facing those issues... so give me a break.
