Fancy a bite? McDonald's burger bought in Utah in 1999 looks exactly the same as the day it was first flipped (even after it spent two years in a COAT POCKET)

:thinking::rofl:

If you need another reason to kick the junk food habit this should do it.
A Utah man has unearthed a McDonald's hamburger he bought in 1999 - and the sandwich looks exactly the same as the day it was first flipped.
David Whipple kept the fast food meal for a month to show friends how the preservative-packed hamburger would keep its composure.

But he forgot about it, finding it two years later in his coat pocket and then he decided to continue the bizarre experiment.

However, even he was shocked to see that the hamburger still looks the same a whopping 14 years later.
'It wasn't on purpose,' Whipple told TV show 'The Doctors,' of his decision to keep the burger for such a long time.

'I was showing some people how enzymes work and I thought a hamburger would be a good idea. And I used it for a month and then I forgot about it.
'It ended up in a paper sack in the original sack with the receipt in my coat pocket tossed in the back of my truck and it sat there for, I don't know, two or three months.'
He said his coat ended up in the coat closet of his Logan, Utah, home.

'My wife didn't discover it until at least a year or two after that,' he said. 'And we pulled it out and said "oh my gosh. I can't believe it looks the same way."'
The burger had no signs of mold, fungus or even a strange odor, the show's hosts said. The only thing that had changed over the years was that the pickle had disintegrated.

Whipple, who still has the original receipt for the burger, said he now shows the sandwich to his grandchildren to encourage them to eat healthily.
'It's great for my grand-kids to see. To see what happens with fast food,' he said.

Most of us know that junk foods are bad for our health...I will never understand why people eat them everyday!?

You can actually get addicted to highfat/sugar foods. Some start to eat as stress relief, for sadness, for boredom or just to celebrate. Many addicted people need their stuff especially when stressed (often the lack of "stuff" causes the stress) and they especially get stressed (like most people) when someone comes and starts to preach about healt dangers and that you're gonna die. Works in smoking, alcoholism, junkfood... And people who eat crap everyday, they don't wanna think about the 'facts', like smoker doesn't think while smoking "this is some good lung cancer etc."

Of course people should eat healthier or at least it would be nice. But the problem with all those campaigns to get people give up bad habits, they usually do it the wrong way. Never have I seen a anti-smoking campaign that hadn't caused me to go running for a smoke out of anger/stress. Nobody benefits from scaring campaigns.

And sorry if ranting:p Been thinking about quitting smoking lately... Been smoker for almost as many years as I've been non-smoker, and I'm just 24:thinking:

I don't eat that every day as well, only in the morning and evening. :)

Don't throw out that burger!
Just add a few pickles...and it's a vintage delight!

So right... my dad is a medical doctor and if you visit a coal plant near you I'm sure it isn't smoking as much as my dad did and yet he was lecturing us about health... And I was forced by my blond bitch to stop smoking too; he used my kids against me lol...;) the only thing he can't have me stopped is my drink after a long day... I need it, I want it and nobody and no sex treat will make me change my mind about it.:p

Gongrats! You loose nothing with quitting smoking. It only eases the problems it greates. Few days back saw brolly 12year old boy in the trains smoking closet (by the size of it) smoking, thinking he looked cool. They should ban smokes seriously, cause there is no way from preventing kids from getting them, and they don't know what they are getting themselves in. Only happy smoker is the still healthy smoker, but when you get the gaugh etc. you realize you're already trapped. Ofcourse I'm not those people who wanna ban everything, but by the dead rates it would be wise. Ban smokes, legalize some smoothing and relaxing plant that hasn't directly killed anyone;)

I actually started smoking very late... I was 21 when I became a addicted smoker before that... being in a house of a smoker (my dad) cigarette was giving me major headaches and I did have trouble to breath... funny enough I was very active physically speaking with martial arts and all the other activities but its only when I came home that it was getting worst... so started smoking in parties... in my mid 20 I've got my first daughter and trust me that's when it got worst... always worrying about the kid, smoking was a relaxing time... but it got out of hand... I was just like those saying I can stop whenever I want... 8 years later I was smoking almost a pack a day. I realized that it wasn't as easy as I thought and even though I was still physically active (never stopped to be) my power of concentration was more directed to the next cigarette than getting my stuff done lol.

Well now you can just enjoy that you're smokefree. And as you told earlier that your husband used your kids as an excuse for you to stop, well it's an very good excuse. Children of smokers have higher chance of starting smoking. Your showing your kids the way:thumbs up: It's hard to believe that smoking is bad when one can see his own father smoking, getting seemingly more relaxed and all that other stuff. It's really good that you're not doing that "hidden" advertising to your kids like tv shows and some sport industries does. Smoking after sex is the desert that makes it perfect? To non-smokers the sex is everything needed for it to be perfect. Great lunch at restaurant? Destroy the meal quick and rush out for a smoke... Yet with knowing how the addiktion works etc. just can't quit. Feel like the problem is somewhere else. But you'we definetly done the one the best decissions of your life, there's no doubt about that:)
