Philosophical question : is gay porn totally part of the pop culture now, for us gay people, as music, cinema or TV shows are?

I was wondering that because, as you may know, Scott Finn just died a few days ago. I learnt the news yesterday and i was in shock. I loved him as a performer and he seemed to be a great guy. 27 is way too young to die. I remember having the same kind of sadness when Tyler White died some years ago. Yes, he became an annoying and dumb white straight guy (drugs probably helped) but I kept a tenderness for the shy and inexperienced college boy he was when he start porn.
Last year, the death of Liam Payne from 1D left me with the same kind of feelings, although I wasn't a fan of his work.
So, is it just me or is gay porn now part of the pop culture? Do we have a special relationship with gay porn compared to straight people? Do we see gay porn performers as more human being than straight people view their female counterpart? Because of our history, does gay porn (still) has a more deep signification than just a bunch of guys fucking themselves? Or is it just than nowadays, with social medias, we feel more connected to people who never even met?

For me, gay porn is slowly getting part of the pop culture in General.

gay is definitely getting to be part of the pop culture, it is everywhere, commercials, reality TV, podcasts, movies, books etc, etc. Literally everywhere. Bi is starting to be included now too. Why it is lagging behind is beyond me.
But the porn part, not nearly as much, not even close.
