What advice would you have for a virgin about to lose his virginity?

Don't do it if you're not comfortable, don't force it, don't go any further than you want to, and have fun!

B.

Good advice from gb2000ie and smallsleepyrascalcat. I'll just add that you should plan what to say in the event:
  • You are uncomfortable and want to "abort the mission" (i.e. leave).
  • He wants to do something you don't want.
  • You want him to do something that he's not doing.
  • He doesn't want to use a condom.

It can be hard to talk about sex in the best of circumstances - and especially when you are in the middle of it. Just a few minutes of thought and "rehearsal" beforehand can give you the words you need in a moment of passion or stress.

Other than that, just go with it and experience the moment. Remember this is only your first step into your sexual journey. Back when you were a child and took your first steps they were probably wobbley, but the fact that you had become mobile opened up a new world. Enjoy!

My advice would be to make sure that the person you are with is someone special. You only get one first, so make sure it is really with the person that you want to be with. There should be no hurry to lose your virginity, take your time and make it the wonderful thing it should be.

...take your time and make it the wonderful thing it should be.

And I see it almost exactly the opposite - don't build it up to be more than it is. Of course, someone special is always nice. But the first time you rode a bike wasn't your best ride. The first time you drove a car wasn't your best driving. My opinion is that it's the fact that you are taking the step that is special - and the sex is only going to get better from here on. And I'm talking about decades ahead of the sex continually getting better.

Or maybe we are both giving the same advice but emphasizing different parts of the message?

Yeah I think we are looking at it from different angles. I don't think that the sex it self will necessarily be great. As you point out, there will be a lot of fumbling around, where does this go? The special part comes because of who you are with, that they truley love you and take time with you. That's what I think any way.

Here is some advice:

Ask first. So you don't regret anything after which. And of course heed smallsleepyrascalcat's advice.

have fun with it
its all about being together
don't rush it and you'll enjoy it
I did

don't forget to make sure that you're partner is clean from STDs ;)

Make sure it is with the person you want it to be with. Take your time and prepare. And if at anytime you or your partner have second thoughts stop. you can always try again another day.

Here is a suggestion:

If you don't feel comfortable sucking cock unprotected, ask if he objects to wearing a condom for oral too. I asked my first guy and he was more than happy to wear one for oral.

He told me that all I had to do was speak up if I was uncomfortable with anything. After a while, we stopped using condoms for oral but still used them for penetration.

Be sure that you want to do it, because you are the only one who cares

don't stress over it, the first time is never the best time, you probably won't last long, it's not gonna be perfect. Remember if first impressions really mattered, people would never have sex after their first time.

well after all your info guys and all --all of which i agree with completely-- but to me i would make sure the person i am with-know how active he has been so he knows how active you havent been-- and completely understands you are a virgin and even though he has been active you havent--so he knows not to go in full throttle ripping your ass making it hurt instead of taking his time for both him and you to both enjoy it

From my own personal experience, I remember my first time with a guy and what we did was a lot of frottage, sucking, kissing, jerking and just exploring each others' bodies. Actually, this went on for a while until we both felt comfortable enough to want to take it to the next level. I do agree with the other guys advise as well..however, I don't feel you should do something of that nature until you are comfortable with it, don't let anyone talk or force you to do something that you don't want to do...

yea, your first time should be comfortable and something you like and not fulfill some sort of expectation to do something... just go with your inner flow! (lol i sound zen!)
