Hello dear GH friends in general and haiducci, slimjim and Shelter in particular!!!

I know many of you in western, central and southern Europe have had and maybe still have heatwaves with 32-38 C - but that's definitely not the problem in my parts of western Sweden.

It's the 3 July today and neither June nor early July has given us the warm winds we had in late May, when we had several days with 25-28 C in the afternoon - and that's my favourite summer temperatur.

In my parts of Sweden it's a very rainy day today with not more than 9-10 C and quite windy. But I'm actually not complaining - I much rather have 10 C and rain in Malungsfors than 38 C in Berlin or 33-34 C in Maribor.

at first: the last night has been very sticky, and we really felt uncomfortable! However, the temperature dropped to 23° C today, and it will drop to 16° C tonight.
And sure we have had in the years before hot temperatures. But compared to the open country, it is more difficult in the city.
Around the Brandenburger Tor (Brandenburg Gate) where no trees are, the temperature has been up to 50°C.
But as I have said now the temperatures are again in the right position and the great thunderstorm wasn't here. So let us
enjoy the "normal" summer days.

88F, 31C high, 61F, 16C low, for San Fernando Valley portion of Los Angeles. For the L.A. Basin (the part of L.A. not in the San Fernando Valley - Downtown, WEHO & Hollywood, among other areas) was 78F, 25.5C and 63F, 17C. The reason for the large swing in temperatures is the fact that Los Angeles is an arid (semi-desert) area and temperatures vary greatly during the day and night. Last week we didn't have more than 10-11 C a couple of days in my parts of Sweden. And while that's a definitely too cold for early July, I'm really not complaining - 10C and rain is in my opinion a lot better than 30-40 C day after day.

The maximum temp. was 33C/92F today - and it's still 26C/79F now at 22:20 and the forecast is for it to only drop to around 18C/64F at 0500 am tomorrow - and 35 mins later the sun will rise and we will do it all over again.

Since Saturday it's been as low as -6Deg C with strong winds and some snow giving a wind chill feeling more like -10 Deg C then this afternoon it got above zero and rained so all the snow washed away, horray! Scotland had it much worse with very heavy snow falls and the coldest recorded was in Norfolk with a very very cold -12.5 Deg, I don't want to even think about what that felt like in the winds!

But now we have weather warnings as Storm Goretti approaches. If the forecasts are accurate the real heavy snows and gale force winds will just miss me and hit more southern parts of the UK - if they have got it right.

I'm envious ... no, I'm ENVIOUS!!!! Right now, the temperature is -8°C, and the wind is freezing. On Friday, we shall get a
snow storm. The last harsh winter Berlin had was in 1978.

None of the snow storms were heavy...just annoying. Freezing rain as well.

But a warm up starts tomorrow. The snow will melt, and I can take a nice walk.
