Wow, is that really true? I was never a star trekker but I do recall tuning in just to watch Wes in his skin tight uniform that always showed quite the bulge. Hard to beleive he'd be unpopular with the gay crowd...I think he's a hottie..

I think it just became a Trek tradition to dislike him because he was probably regarded as a cocky kid when he started. I never understood the total dislike some had for him. I wouldn't have missed his character but he never annoyed me - and was rather cute too

He since became a fantastic comedy speaker and somewhere I've downloaded one of his great speeches describing how he met 'William "fucking" Shatner'! It's quite brilliant. He also became famous again for his long running blog which I used to read a while ago. The real person was definitely more interesting that the Wesley character.

But now that I think about it, I remember David Letterman years ago having a bit he would do every few months about horrible records. William Shatner had one and so did Leonard Nimoy.
