You EVER finish your chinese food?

Oh my god. Can or does ANYONE....EVER finish their chinese food the first time without having to save it for later cause you are too full of it? I can never (depending on what i get) never finish the food. I always end up eating a little bit of some at different hours of that day.

I never have that problem because I am crazy about Chinese food. I need to find a restaurant like the one you go to.

Well, from a Chinese perspective, that's counted a "blessing". It'll be Chinese New Year (Lunar New Year) soon, and one of the wishes is, "May you have surplus every year" from the phrase "年年有余" ("Nian Nian You Yu). It's a terrible fate if one lives a "hand to mouth existence"... so give thanks for life's abundance when it comes to food.

PS: It's also a tradition for some to cook extra rice on the eve of the New Year, then purposely keep it as a leftover for the new year. On New Year's day, everyone has a little bit of that "special leftover rice" together with whatever goodies are prepared for the big feast. This symbolises that you have excess and will carry that through the new year too!

The restaurant in my neighborhood always gives me a lot of food and I can't eat all of it...eventually eat some more later on...

For those of you who are non-Asians, it is customary in a Chinese restaurant to ask that left-overs be wrapped to take home. In many of the dim sum restaurants here in Toronto, the waiters will bring you styrofoam containers to allow you to take home whatever you could not eat at the restaurant. In Brazil, I always take left-overs out to give to street kids.
