Spooning - little and big spoon

Are there any unwritten rules when it comes to spooning?
Do most guys have a preference or is the majority versatile?
I'm only 5'8 so I rarely meet shorter guys, but I like to switch it up even though I'm usually the shorter one. And most of the taller guys seem to prefer being the big spoon.

Exactly the same here - I'm 5'8, and my hubby is 6'2, but we take turns, though I think he does prefer to be big spoon.

I think it's easier for the taller one to be the big spoon, is that not true? Eg. I used to date a 6'1 guy and he always put his arm around me when we were sitting on the couch together. I never tried doing that to him but I can imagine it would be difficult since he was so much taller than me.

Sure, it's easier for the tall guy to be big spoon, but that doesn't mean it has to be that way

Spooning is good foreplay. Spooning is good to share body heat when one is really cold. Spooning is good to show affection. But spooning can be the last thing I would want to do sometimes.

I can't sleep if I get too hot. I sleep in the nude with minimal cover. We both do. I prefer the room to be cool. Very cool. I have trouble breathing if it's too warm. I don't like to sweat in bed unless there is a lot of physical activity going on if you know what I mean. Spooning can make me sweat and overheat. I don't like that. But we might spoon for a few minutes before slumber time. It feels good for a few minutes but then then body heat builds and it's just too fucking HOT!

Totally agree. Great for showing affection before, after, and during, sex. Not a sleeping positon!

Spooning or cuddle up to the beloved one is great during the evenings with TV. Sometimes, if the TV has no interesting program we are spooning or cuddling and watching a horny porn - and sure Sniffit, than I must admit, it will be at first slowly and than quicker and quicker very hot and suddenly all our clothes are on the floor and than there is no interest anymore in the porn - we have our own! -

Thank, guys. I'm trying to get a better grip on this spooning thing so I can do it better. Of course, I could always ask the other person what they like, but I find that it makes a world of difference if you can get it right without asking.
For instance, I like a little bit of playful biting in bed, but if I have to tell him to do it it's not really the same thing, you know?

My preferences are similar to tonka's. Spooning or cuddling on the couch while watching TV is good, but in bed, it can get claustrophobic and hot. Spooning in bed for a few minutes is fine, especially after, but then to get to sleep I need my space.

I'm sorta like Sniffit, I love the winter and an ice-cold bed. I can use my own body heat (or my partner's) to regulate the temperature throughout the night.
