A great cast - Michael Shannon; Russel Crowe; Rami Malek; Richard E. Grant & Leo Woodall but I think cutting some of the 2hr 28min would have improved the pacing.

A very interesting plot as I could read. But nevertheless, these stories just go on forever! Perhaps it is because of the

I saw the first 10 mins or so of this yesterday then took a long phone call so watched the rest today. Happily I had not got to the point where the action ramped up. This has an over the top plot but nevertheless it's an intense action movie

WEAPONS (2025)

When all but one child from the same class mysteriously vanish on the same night at exactly the same time, a community is left questioning who or what is behind their disappearance. Imdb

No trailer a) due to actor ages and b) the best way to come to this excellent thriller/horror is to know not much more than the synopsis above from Imdb. I really enjoyed this tense thrill ride there are many WTF?! moments trying to work out what is going on. There are jump scares -and I mean really good jump scares! It is at times funny, at times gory, at times very gory with great performances all around and a narrative style that teases the plot along with a soundtrack that fits and adds to the tension.

I've already saved a copy in my "Keepers" folder. Highly recommended

I had a specific reason for giving this a re-watch. It's still just as much fun as the first time!

You know how some sequels are not as good as the original? This is one of those. It's okay but is very much a repeat of the first one but in a different setting. The big problem is that in the1st one we got the gradual discovery that our "docile family man" is anything but and, to steal a line from another movie, has a certain set of skills whereas here we know full well that he's a fully trained assassin so there's no surprise when the ultra-violence starts

Was the main reason I grabbed a copy of this that it stars Tom Blyth who is easy on the eye? Yes. Is it any good? No. Is it rubbish? Yes. Is there even the smallest compensation of Tom spending any time on screen in just a pair of snug fitting boxer-briefs? Sadly No

A compelling slow burner with excellent performances from Nick Offerman and Jacob Tremblay ably supported by Dennis Quaid. Loosely based on real events it is a riveting if at times disturbing watch.

A very touching story on Netflix! Kate Winslet, Timothy Spall, and Helen Mirren deliver exceptional performances. Heartwarming, and don't forget handkerchiefs!

THE LONG WALK (2025)

A group of teenage boys compete in an annual contest known as "The Long Walk," in which they must maintain a certain walking speed or get shot. Imdb

Film adaptations of much loved novels rarely do them justice and this one is no exception. I absolutely loved the Stephen King novel and have read and re-read it many times. If you have not read it you may enjoy this movie more than me but lovers of the novel will spot the plot points completely missing from the film, and the big one - they changed the bloody ending, and it's big change!

A DEA agent and his partner pursue thieves: their own rebellious teens, who began robbing the cartel using their parents' tactics and classified intel. Imdb

This David Bautista & Jack Champion movie is an oddity. A goofball teen movies mixed with a DEA versus drug cartel action movie. It doesn't really work as the plot is too far fetched and silly and the "plot twist" is guessable early one.
