I used to bite them but I stopped. Then before my graduation, I was stressed out and bit them again then they grew back again, and I bit them again because of the exams for college now they look awful and I'm waiting for them to grow back

I used to bite, now I clip. A guy I worked with who I greatly admired was a terrible biter. I used to watch him biting which he did incessantly. IT LOOKED LIKE HELL!

Not the fingers but the act of nail biting. It really bugged me to watch it. Kinda like watching a heroine addict shooting up. Plus others used to make snide remarks about him behind his back about the non stop biting. Watching that guy was like looking in the mirror. I stopped.

Funny, I pay zero attention to other guys' hands or nails. Totally unaware of it. I only notice when they have their fingers in their mouths, which as I said in the previous post looks like hell. It really is a terrible habit and sends an extremely negative message to people who see you doing this.

Its kinda like bad posture, a weak handshake, a mousy voice, not making eye contact, etc. Its very bad body language. It sends a negative vibe out. Those who do it are probably unaware that they are doing it. But believe me those around you who see you are quite aware and take you down a few notches in respect.

So long as they don't ask you to bite their nails. That would put a whole different spin on the term "bite me!"

It also actually ends up ruining your cuticles and the more you bite them the more damage to them and ends up perhaps even stopping the growth of your nails

LOL, oh so there is science to back the claims of not biting your nails.. i thought it was just a beauty thing..
no i dont bite them... just dont have the habit of doing so... never had it for some strange strange reason

i never bite my finger nails. somehow that habit either just passed me by or my mom was such a control freak she managed to cast this habit away from me LOL

i always clip my nails every two weeks to keep it nice and tidy

I clip fingernails. It's sanitary and keeps my them from looking disgusting like most nail biters fingernails do.

How about that stuff you apply to fingernails to make them taste terrible when you put your fingers in your mouth. Does that work as a deterrent?
