my bf asked me if i would want a relative to be gay? and i wouldn't!!! not that theres anything wrong with it:) lol

but i think life is easier if your straight:) hmmm...can that be? lol

Nobody would want to be gay where I live

I think it really depends on where you live, and who you live with. I think we're getting close to the situation where being gay is no more difficult that being straight in some of the more secular western nations, but that's FAR from a universal situation.

I think everyone has some cross to bear though, so I'm not sure I'd want people not to be gay. I also don't think I'd want them to be gay. Not sure that really answers your question - sorry!

I want the whole world to be gay.

Just think of it, no over population, no hunger, no unplanned pregnancies...

No more people period before too long lol

LMAO!

I don't want us poofs to die out, but I wouldn't necessarily want a massive uprise in gay folk xD

I observe that gay youth face more special challenges growing up than regular people.

As do fat youth, youth from a different ethnic background, youth of a different religion, youth who don't like the sport they should ........

All kids get picked on, not just the gay ones.

I'll put it this way, it's not something that I would force or wish upon others.

And yes, I know grass is greener, yadda yadda yadda, but I've yet to be convinced otherwise that people get ragged on equally. Some get it harder than others.

I attribute it then to the fact that I haven't come across who commit suicide because they were harassed as fat, non-caucasian, muslim, and geeks.

All kids get picked on, but not as intensely and unremittingly as gay ones.

Not at all, there are plenty of gay men that want to be parents and lesbian women still have maternal instincts. Desire and instinct will ensure that the human race marches on, no matter how distasteful the process...:p

In all actuality, since almost everybody has some degree of bisexuality, the best thing that could happen for all of us, is if the world got over the nonsense that same sex relations were immoral. If it became the societal norm that you have fun with the boys until the right girl comes along.

If little junior was fooling around with a buddy from his football team instead of getting some girl pregnant at 16...;)

Within my family, being gay is not accepted and after many years of them knowing about my being gay, although I've established a life on my own and learned to embrace and love the individual that I've become, recently, my mom passed away over the Christmas holidays, and although my sister whom I'm closed to had approached me with a proposal in order for me to avoid being negatively subjected by family members, unfortunately, it did not work out the way she hoped it would which led me to reconsider going to my mom's funeral. There are some members of my family who assume that I can change my sexuality if I so desire. However, as I had this conversation a couple of years ago with a sister who do not accept or acknowledge me because of my sexuality that if being gay was a choice, I would definitely not choose this lifestyle due to the fact how society treats and look upon gay people in general. Yeah, okay, times are changing to some degree, but unfortunately, they have not made the progress that is so needed for a gay person to feel accepted without adversity. But like the song says, "I Am What I Am" with no excuses and that is saying a lot in my opinion to be able to embrace and love yourself despite what some of society thinks.

I agree with this fully, I love women and would like to raise a family someday, but I don't see anything wrong if I want to be with a man here or there until I meet the woman I want to make my wife.

And maybe that wife would occasionally like you to entertain her with some male friends :p

I do wish people were more relaxed about the whole straight-bi-gay -thing, it's the person that matters not who s/he fucks... and the society doesn't crumble because of any of that -_-

My condolances :(

Your story yet again brings up my shock at how religions which are all pro-family, can have the exact inverse effect, and drive wedges through families.

You don't mention what religion your family are, but if they are Christian, I think they need to read their new testament a LOT more closely. There's plenty of examples of Jesus reaching out to people DESPITE social taboos, but none that I know of where he excluded anyone from his love, even those who DID chose to do 'bad' things.

So much hate in the name of love, it makes me so very sad :(

sorry about you loss jw4833:( hope all works out for you in life babe:) lol

Well I think the percentage of gays in the world is rising from what i have read, unless thats based on because in some area's now its become easier to reveal your sexuality. Also there is more gay males than females. I don't want anyone to be gay or straight il leave that up to life to decide.

truthfully, i don't know how to answer this question. yes, in large urban cities, for the most part, people a more accepting. on the other hand, these days, i see 2 rather disturbing trends. 1) there is a lot more girl bullying going on, in both elementary and high schools, and 2) with boys coming out earlier in life, i see (for better or worse) a lot more effeminate(ness) - new word, not one i particularly like, nor is it a 'trait' to which i am attracted (but that's just me). i am afraid that this probably leads to more ridicule. so, while society, in general, may be more accepting, unless children are 'taught' to be more accepting of others, and see their parents doing so, as well, i tend to lean toward the 'not wanting/wishing a niece/nephew of mine to be gay.'

That's a tough choice to make... I'd say that being gay has always made me have an outsider perspective in society, which ultimately helped me in the long run.

But if you were born just to a small town and being gay would eternally isolate you, then yeah probably not.
