There is no such thing as devolving!

Me might evolve traits we had before, but it's always evolution, it is a one-way system. The fittest live, the weakest die. That which helps you survive gets passed on, that which cuts your chances gets cut. There is no reverse switch. Evolution can't start to favour traits that reduce your odds of survival, which is what devolving would be!

I don't follow? What have one family got to do with evolution? Averages have outliers, you can't prove or disprove anything statistical and slow with and example of one family. That's like saying the weather in one village says something about the climate of a hemisphere!

Of course we continue to evolve. Unfortunately, we have so much crap slowing the process down. We have a patent system that screws individual inventors, a copyright system that screws the arts, an education system that falls below China and Russia, a legal system that screws cops, doctors, scientists. On top of that, people tend to grow fatter and less physically able.

It's not that we're devolving. I don't believe that will happen. I just think our progress is sniffled in so many ways.

Though honestly, my remark about the Duggars was intended to be humor, not the start of a debate on personal philosophy.

Clearly some people are devolving back into monkeys, although I work in Retail so that may of made me bitter

I think there are signs of evolution, you can see distinct differences between people that if they kept running pure would become a new genus
