The Holden Kingswood 1971 from the serie TV Brokenwood


Holden is an Australian constructor subsidiary of General Motors. The serie TV come from New-Zealand.


This model found in a magazine seem a little older. As GM, Holden changed the radiator grill of his models every year.
The Holden Kingswood was powered by a six-cylinder 2.6 L/3 L or a V8 Chevrolet 5 L. A rare model in our countries.

The range Simca 1300/1500 is presented at Geneva motorshow in March 1963. The 1300 is first marketed, for the 1500 we have to wait Paris motorshow 1963 (model 64).


The "horizon line" is from the Italian designer Mario Revelli di Beaumont.


On the 1300 above, rear bumper is shorter on the side.


The Simca 1500 is recognisable by its flat radiator grill.

Multiple versions for the 1300/1500 1966, L, LS, GL, GLS, and a new 1300 break available in break, break GL and break familiale as the 1500.
New 1500 GLA (automatic)


Disk front brakes for all the 1300 that keep its old radiator grill only for the basic versions L and LS.

In 1966, Chrysler take the control of Simca. Progressively the pentastar logo will replace the swallow on the cars of this make.

The numerous lifes of Poissy factory


Above : In 1938, feeling the end of Matford (Mathis and Ford-France association), Ford is building a big factory at Poissy in the country near Paris. At this time the country was near Paris... The factory finished, it is the war and Ford make some trucks for the Germans. After two Allied bombardments, the factory is entirely rebuilt in 1946 and the first Ford F472 are assembled by the new company Ford SAF.

1954, first name change, Ford SAF become Simca that get the new Ford Vedette V8 and Poissy factory.
The Simca Aronde production move progressively from Nanterre to Poissy.


H.T. Pigozzi, Simca founder-president, presents the new Simca 1000 in October 1961.


Simca is controled by Chrysler Group in 1966. Even the water tower get the pentastar!


July 1970, Simca disappear, now it is Chrysler France and the new model foreground is named Chrysler 160/180.


Spring 1980, after Chrysler France purchase by Peugeot PSA, the Talbot Solara is showing proudly the new logo Talbot for the first time.


The Peugeot 207 is launched early 2006.
After the sad Talbot end, Poissy is going on under the name PSA, making some small Peugeot and Citroën. (1007, 207, C2, C3...)


Today it is a modern factory belonging to the huge group Stellantis (Peugeot, Citroën, Fiat, Chrysler (!), Jeep, Opel ...)
Until when? Some say 2027... Maybe later, on this site, it will be a park Pigozzi like there is today a park André Citroën!

New Simca 1301/1501, lengthened of 21 centimeters (7.5 in front, 13.5 back).

Yet unchanged, the new body seem wider.

7.5 cm longer in front just for one esthetic reason! At this time, cars were tighter and longer than today.


The break back keep unchanged.

Model 69 : New model 1501 Special, more powerful (additional headlights).
Simplification of the range 1301/1501 : 2 saloons and 1 break for 1301, 2 saloons and 2 breaks for 1501.


Notice the new wheel sportive look of the 1501 Special and the logical gearshift, on the floor, close to gearbox.

January 1970

1301 is powered by a new 1300 cm3 engine derived from the 1500 cm3. It was time to replace the old "Rush" of the Aronde!
The motor capacity is always 1290 cm3. A new 1301 Special replace the 1301 GL.

July 1970 : Chrysler France replace Simca.
Big letters S.I.M.C.A of the bonnet are deleted and a small rectangular logo appear.


Range Chrysler France 71.
On the French market, the 1501 saloon is deleted for not embarrassing the new Chrysler 160 foreground.

Chrysler 160 - 160 GT - 180


Chrysler France insist on the low price of its new model.


Chrysler 160/180 are like Hillman Avenger from Chrysler UK. The mechanical would come from Chysler France ex-Simca.


Chrysler 180


A trim between the back lights allow to recognize the up version 180.


Chrysler 160 GT during a comparative test. Behind, two other propulsions Opel Ascona and Ford Taunus.


The modern engine with one OHC is available in version 1.6 L or 1.8 L. The back suspension with rigid axle is out of date in 1970.


September 1970 : New Chrysler 160/180 are presented to the make dealerships on Mortefontaine circuit near Paris.

Model 72


Simca 1301 Special saloon and break remain the ohly model at the catalog. It get the radiator gril of the 1501 S that is always sold on some exportation markets. Vinyle roof in option for 1301 S and Chrysler.

One Chrysler less for one more : 160 GT is deleted.



Chrysler 2 Liter launched in January 1973.
