One of the first fast food & burger chains in the UK was the Wimpy Bars, they always had waitresses. It wasn't exactly "fast" in that sense.

I never thought much of them until McDonalds came along, that made me appreciate them better )

They've all but vanished now, the only pity is that they did a very acceptable spicy bean burger, one of the few bits of fast food I'll eat .

See in Paris the Golden Arches doesn't get the Palm, Quick does which is a burger joint that pollute the soil of Paris but oh was their burger much better than McDougall, I can't digest anything McDonalds does except the salad which isn't their work of horror... and I bring my own dressing LOL. Alex and my son however are fans of the McDLT which I find so gross:rofl: I won't even kiss Alex after he got one of those in his mouth unless he brush his teeth and mouthwash it three time

Yes I tip usually 10-20% but always based on service.

I always tip in an effort to show appreciation (doesn't matter what country I happen to be in, whether I am traveling abroad or @ home in The States).

My mom always says if you can't afford to tip 20% then you can't afford to go out to eat. I tip 20% or as close as I can afford regardless of their service. We have to remember that servers only make on average 4.50 an hour. Lawmakers expect them to make up the rest in tips.
