Yeah, trying it out. Important to read the "what's changed" info, otherwise one could go mousing in circles trying to find stuff that is now in different places or accessed differently.

Chrome

Chrome is.............okay I guess. I prefer FireFox for the added tweakability. I like to have the option to fool around with various things and customize the browser to my personal tastes. Chrome doesn't allow much of that - but then again it's perfect for guys who just want to surf safely.

Well honestly the reason I prefer Chrome is because of its minimalist look. Has nothing to do with customization or speed or security.

I got two super-fast gamer's machines :devil: so speed isn't an issue, and I know my way around with regards to internet and system security, so my choice was all based on me as a person - a minimalist to the core

No, I'm not updating it yet. Last time I accepted an update it screwed up the "refresh" ability and the back button. It wasn't just me, there were a whole load of others complaining. It corrected eventually but was a pain in the ass until then!

I hate upgrades, if it works it works so I leave it

Not a bad way to operate. If this were a Micro$oft product I would heartily agree. However. since Mozilla is free and open source and no one makes a profit based on users downloading, I always consider that the source code is being updated to reflect better security and browsing.

For sure I was one of those who were affected by that last glitch, but human error can creep in to code-writing, even when lots of eyes are checking the program for bugs. Sometimes it's a weird interplay between the version of the O/S (and whether original or OEM), and the browser. Strange things can happen that are not always test-able in the lab.

Use Chrome now pretty much all the time. I like FF of course but the memory leak problems which plaque FF always were a nuisance for me. I just lived with it til something better came along. Chrome doesn't suffer from this.

Some quirks with Chrome which they oughta address though. No print preview, no string search, and I've encountered a couple of bugs with Chrome in its handling of Pimp & Host folders and with Paypal.

OTOH, I love Chrome's 'element inspect' feature built into the right klik menu. Very nice to quickly find and see how a web page section was designed/coded. nice

Firefuck all the way... however...

Because I run servers and websites I have practically all the browsers, one of my laptop has all of them so I can check how the websites I host looks with each browsers, so far Chrome and Firefuck are the best, IE is a pain but because I run Sharepoints server I have to use it somehow. Opera is not bad but I don't like the idea of paying so much for so little. The worst are AOL and IE they are so not compatible with many script it's annoying.

Very understandable - but each upgrade closes security vulnerabilities, so you are trading away some security for the ease of working with an older version. Security and ease of use are often at odds, so it's always takes some thought as to where to draw the line.

I run Chrome and FireFox all the time, and I love using Fluid to make Site-SpecificBrowsers, so that I can turn webpages into apps. This works extra-well when combined with Choosy so you can route all links to Flickr to a Flickr SSB etc..

For a very long time my favourite was FireFox, but it's really started to piss me off with it's stupid memory leaks. I think I still use FF more because of all the plugins I thoroughly depend on, but I'm using Chrome more and more, and it is definitely my favourite, so I voted for it over FF.

FIREFOX. I shout their praises to all who will listen.

I've found the Mozilla Forum very useful for work-arounds and tweaks to get newly updated versions to behave similarly to previous versions. Yeah, that last Firefox update was a big Oops for them.

Firefox was my favorite, until the past several versions came out. By itself, the browser was great, but each new version changed a number of things under the hood. Sadly, extensions were essential to me. Unfortunately, just changing the version number on a number of them didn't fix them, due to the original extension creator's long ago not updating them. Add too that, over time, Firefox ended up with extensions I found to be essential, to eat more RAM than a stoner at a pizza eating contest. Then I found Chrome, and I've not looked back since then.

My first browser was Netscape Navigator 1.2. Because of my lingering feelings of dislike for IE because of the way it took the browser market in the nineties I still now favor Netscape's successor Firefox. It's had its ups and downs but it seems to be getting better over time. I liked Opera for a while because of its tabs which now everyone has, and also the ability to save sessions which now I can finally do (kind of) in Firefox. Chrome is too stripped down and lacks the ability to be customized to the level that FF can. Also there are extensions which now I regularly rely on and can't get in Chrome.

^That is the exact reason i prefer Firefox.Its highly customizable (is that a right word?),it has addons like Adblock Plus,Video DownloadHelper,DownthemAll!,Stratiform (great for changing the firefox interface) etc which i cannot live without them (i have 20 addons which make my life easier) plus the new send from god feature "Panorama",i use it all the time,loving it!

I use Firefox, simply because it comes with the Linux system, works perfectly well and there is no good reason for me to seek out an alternative.

One has to feel sorry for poor old Microsoft IE, with only one poll vote at time of writing. There was a time when it looked as though it would become the dominant browser. I know a number of Windows users who switched to Firefox more or less on principle, after Bill Gates managed to kill off competitor Netscape by the dubious practice of bundling Internet Explorer with the Windows system.
