Get out and find a new one , it's a terrible feeling and situation but it's too easy to get downhearted , be positive and get out there immediately and at least put feelers out !

That really sucks
Two days notice is shockingly little - not sure what country you are in, but I really hope it's one with mandatory redundancy payments. Not even slightly a replacement for a job, but at least it will help tide you over while you search for a new job.
The best of luck in the job market - I really don't envy you at all.

Sorry to hear that, hammervice.
Two days' notice is more than some people get. At the last office job where I worked, I had the unpleasant experience of turning up one Monday morning and asking "Where's ____?" only to be told the guy in question had been told on the Friday evening that he was made redundant and wouldn't be required from then on. He was not even give the chance to say goodbye to anyone. Presumably he got severance pay.
I've heard other stories of people actaully not being told about their job loss until they were outside the building - called outside on the pretext of a fire drill or something of that nature, then the bosses informing them that their jobs were gone, their pass cards and accounts had been disabled, and they would not be allowed back into the building. The contents of their office desks were collected and brought out to the car park for them to retrieve their stuff. This was in case anyone, getting upset at the news, decided to delete a few files on the computer or something.
I'm not going to say "Consider yourself lucky" because losing a job unexpectedly is always somewhat traumatic, but at least you got a small amount of notice and a chance to say goodbye to people.

I worked for a large company that gave everyone several months notice that they would be closing down. Even though there was plenty of notice, it was many months of anxiety and worry of not knowing what would happen to me. after they closed, I ended up in a much better job and am glad the place shut down because I would still be there making less money than I do now.
I hope that this unfortunate situation turns into an opertunity for you.

I'm sorry to hear that, it's never easy to lose your job. It may be hard at the beginning, but try looking it in a positive way. It may be the beginning of something good, like how turned out for mrpiz. Hope you get back on your feet soon!

HV dude loosing your job is the worst... but if you have special skills (beside posting awesome videos) take these skills and turn yourself into a consultant. As a consultant companies do not fire you they need you. I myself got fed up of all the games and control companies had over me and I decided at a early age that it was enough. I decided to go private on myself... started my own company and now I charge companies for thousand of dollars just for me to breath in their environment hahahaha. Need help with anything, please to not hesitate. United we are United we stands. Per example I'm on contract with the #1 software company in the world and they pay me tremendous amount of cash to do what I can do

Good news , a lil bad news I did get a new job but it does not start till the end of aug.
The money is about the same ---hr but I can make much more over time and if i go out of town up to ---- a hr and I really think this is a better job for me then what i did have now i just have to wait...
I worked for a mortgage, now im going to work for a cleaning company waxing floors and cleaning rugs wich i did when i was in college its hard work but i always liked it very much.......
